When she found out that she was expecting her first child in 2010, Nathalie Selvon-Bruce realised she would probably need a “family car”. She quickly sold her Smart but unlike most people who would simply go for something big enough to accommodate a baby car seat, she came home with a pimped up 70s campervan. Convinced the lush mobile’s good looks can pay for its maintenance costs, she decided to start hiring it for weddings. But the funky camper proved to be more popular than she ever dreamt of and soon was turned into a business idea that she became determined to develop.

On Thursday 28th May, Croydon became the first London borough to be awarded social enterprise status, having over 120 businesses regestered as social enterprises.

On the same day, My OutSpace held a focus group in the morning to discuss challenges faced by female- led social entrepreneurs.
